Vince Lombardi once said, "There is no room for second place. There is only one place in my game and that is first place. I have finished second twice in my time at Green Bay and I never want to finish second again."

This quote fascinates me, I understand the desire and need for a coach to say these words, but for most of us, it would be an honor to even play in the NFL much less come in second place. At Awards Atlanta we've been providing awards for first place, second place and even last place for over 23 years. The feeling of receiving an award can sometimes be sublime. For my 3rd grade son, he wants to be student of the month so bad it makes him try much harder in school. He always acts well and tries his best. For him, the student of the month award has made a positive impact on his life and he's only 9 years old. I'm sure one day he will receive this award and when he does, not only will I not be able to knock the smile off his face for several days, but he will be working on the next student of the month award. I think there is a little "student of the month" in all of us and we all like trying our best and enjoy receiving awards.
