Normally we do not prefer JPEG's or
GIF's simply because
their compressions distort the image enough to lose practically most of its
detail
where fine lines become grainy and smaller images become blocky and shaded.
If this is the only format that you may posses, send it along with an e-mail and
we'll
tell you if we are able to use the image for engraving.
